Low and slow is the way to make a great grilled cheese sandwich. The addition of fresh basil leaves gives it an Italian twist. Cheesy goodness!

  1. Place cheese and basil leaves between the 2 slices of bread. Brush a liberal amount of olive oil on one side of the sandwich and lightly salt. Place oil side down into a nonstick skillet over medium -low heat.
  2. Brush the other side of the sandwich with olive oil and lightly salt.
  3. Cook until golden on the bottom 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese melts, 3 to 5 more minutes.
